Builder Purchases Acreage for Office Expansion and Residential Development Mooresville, N.C. – June 5, 2006 – EFC Builders announced today that it has purchased over ten acres of property in Troutman, N.C. for its future office expansion and for residential development. Approximately five acres, located on Main Street South (Hwy. 21), will be the future office location for the company. The remaining five acres, located on Morrison Farm Road in the Sunset Bay community, will be used for development of four building lots, all of which will include custom homes built by EFC Builders. The site for EFC’s new offices includes several existing buildings. The building that will become EFC’s main office is approximately 1,800 square feet, one-third larger than EFC’s current office space. A separate building will house the company’s construction materials and grading equipment. The property will also be used for employee and visitor parking. Renovation of their new office building will begin immediately and is expected to be completed by the first quarter of 2007. The company will then relocate from its current office location at 762 Brawley School Road in Mooresville to the new location. “We are currently leasing office space in Mooresville,” explained Geoff Bowen, EFC’s president and co-owner. “However, for over two years, we have looked for suitable property to purchase in Iredell County that would meet the growing needs of our business. We are thrilled that we have found what we were looking for in the City of Troutman.” In addition to their new office location, EFC has also purchased five acres in the Sunset Bay Community. The company plans to begin building two new homes immediately; both are currently for sale. The price range of both homes will be between $400,000 and $550,000. “Troutman has experienced tremendous growth in the real estate market over the past decade, and we are excited about becoming more involved in the community. Our relocation will facilitate an ongoing effort towards solidifying our commitment to current and future residents of Troutman,” said Deborah Bowen, EFC’s co-owner. Established in November 1996, EFC Builders employs a staff of ten who build custom homes in the Lake Norman area ranging in price from $300,000 to over $750,000. In addition to new construction, they provide major residential renovation services that include design and construction.
