A few reasons Luxury Vinyl Plank , or LVP, is so popular with builders, remodelors and homeowners:

*ease of installation: Because it comes in planks that are finished, LVP installs quickly (typically one day, depending upon how large the areas are). The install of LVP is so much easier and faster than the finishing process for hardwood (sand-stain-poly takes at least 5 days). LVP can be installed over concrete, so it’s ideal for basement floors.

*cost: LVP is less expensive than natural hardwood without sacrificing a good look.

*care:  Just vacuum and mop with most household cleaners. Should a repair be needed, one plank can be replaced.

*durability:  Most brands of LVP are waterproof (at least water resistant). Technology has really improved these products over the most recent years.

*beauty:  The look of LVP resembles hardwood flooring. LVP comes in a wide range of colors, from browns to grays and in-between as well as distressed looking.  Wider LVP planks, such as 7”, can be used vs. concern that hardwood that may warp at that width. We like a color that has both browns and grays in it because it goes with all the various cabinets, furniture and paints.  Pictured below in Taupe Terrain:  Armstrong Rigid Core Elements/Tamarron Timber:

*Because of the durability of LVP, we are not hesitant to install it in kitchens and baths. This allows us to have one homogeneous floor throughout large, open floor plans.
