We’re seeing wallpaper trending in both homes and offices. Due to digital technology the colors and designs available in today’s wallpaper products are practically endless. This is not your grandma’s wallpaper! From stripes and plaids to large florals and abstracts with fresh symmetrical shapes, we’re seeing wallpaper as a designers’ choice.
Wallpaper can be used to accent a wall (looks great in an entryway with one wall) – ceiling only (love this in the dining room) – or an entire room (the powder room). From classic to contemporary or even whimsical, there are many wallpaper colors and designs to choose from. While our homes have many neutrals that provide a relaxing environment, wallpaper can transform a simple space to colorful and stylish – consider it an accessory.
“Wallpaper can be the jewel in a room either utilized as an accent piece on one wall or to punctuate the ceiling with interest”, says Rina Norwood, owner of Rina Norwood Design. “There are many wallpaper companies that offer a wide selection of papers at all price points to fit your budget.”
You can beautify your home (or office) quickly and easily with wallpaper. Unlike faux or specialty painting that really requires a professional, most anyone can put up wallpaper. If you want an elegant paper, you can opt for special touches such as lights or crystals embedded in the product. Conversely, if your teenager wants something really fun, you can choose something inexpensive and know that you’ll remove it when she goes to college in a couple of years.
We recently wallpapered our powder room with the help of Rhonda Griffith, owner of Burgess Supply in Huntersville. Rhonda not only assisted us greatly in narrowing down our paper choices, but she was very helpful in confirming quantity of rolls we needed to order.
